“You sit here quietly, I’m going to the bathroom first.” Before leaving, Ye Qilan instructed Age to look after Su Hongxing.

Once he made it to the restroom, Ye Qilan immediately made a phone call to inquire about the results: “What were the results of the pulse diagnosis?”

His taking Su Hongxing out shopping was a pretense; the real objective was to have a traditional Chinese doctor diagnose her pulse.

“Congratulations, sir, the diagnosis results from all of us are consistent. Your wife is nearly two months pregnant. The happy pulse is very clear.” The doctor answered reverently.

Ye Qilan laughed out loud: “I’m really going to be a dad?”

Su Hongxing, that shameless woman, is carrying his flesh and blood but she dared to lie to him, saying the baby was Beichuan’s.

He was too consumed by rage at the time to think deeper.

Su Hongxing was sitting on a resting chair. Noticing that Ye Qilan returned with a stern face, she felt uneasy, fearing he had thought up another way to harm her child.

Only then did Ye Qilan realize his lips had curved into a smile. He composed himself and coldly retorted, “My woman is carrying another man’s child. What could I possibly have to be happy about?”

Upon hearing this, Su Hongxing immediately shut up, not daring to provoke Ye Qilan further.

The ride back to the villa was uneventful, apart from Ye Qilan’s strange facial expression. He seemed like he constantly wanted to laugh but didn’t, which sent chills down her spine.

Finding relief upon finally returning back to the villa was short-lived as Ye Qilan would not leave her alone, trailing her wherever she went, even denying her any alone time with Liu Qingyin.

She couldn’t bother Ye’s father with this matter again. After all, Ye Qilan had said that considering her pregnancy, he would protect them, as he realized he hadn’t cared enough for her beforehand.

Ye’s father believed that Ye Qilan had matured, oblivious to the fact that both Ye Qilan and Su Hongxing were scheming against each other.

When it was just Su Hongxing and Ye Qilan left in the room, Su Hongxing didn’t bother with the charade and coldly asked, “Ye Qilan, what are you up to?”

She didn’t believe for one second that Ye Qilan had such a big heart to raise another man’s child.

Ye Qilan pinched Su Hongxing’s face: “As you said, I’ll be this child’s stepfather from now on…”

“I don’t believe you!” Su Hongxing didn’t believe Ye Qilan at all.

“Do you think everyone is as hypocritical as you are? I tolerate you carrying another man’s child only because I’m too fond of you. Of course, if you want me to continue to take you for an abortion, I’ll satisfy your request.” Ye Qilan calmly responded.

This woman loved to play-act, so he would accompany her. If she loved to scheme, he would counter her at her own game.
